A and J’s Clean Sweep are Andrew and June Smith, a husband-and-wife cleaning team in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. We carry out end of tenancy, pre-occupancy, domestic & home cleaning . Now we are fully insured, DBS checked and open for business
Our backgrounds.
- Andrew spent forty years in the building trade, latterly carrying out maintenance for landlords, post tenancy and pre-occupancy. This included repairs, maintenance and repainting as each property required.
- June spent around fifteen years cleaning at schools, offices and at a Bed and Breakfast establishment, and on one occasion, a church. She worked with Andrew part time from 2005, and then on a full-time basis from 2014 until we relocated to Gainsborough in 2020.
- Both of us provided private customers with a post build clean and landlords with an end of tenancy clean. We like to think we can go that little bit further with our customers and below is a list of services we can provide you with.
End of Tenancy Cleaning
However well a tenant leaves a property, the chances are, as a landlord, you will want a clean carried out before the next tenant takes possession of it. We provide a top to bottom clean once the tenant has vacated the property and it has become empty. This includes:-
- Dusting at ceiling height, removing cobwebs around the area and light shades, clean between walls and radiators
- Vacuuming of carpets, or mopping hard floors. Basic carpet shampoo cleaning is available too.
- Wiping down skirting, architraves, door frames and other woodwork.
- Cleaning the interior and exterior of kitchen cupboards, and worktops, sink and draining board, interior and exterior of white goods
- Sweep out the interior of garage
We don't do oven cleaning, as we consider that to be a specialist job. There are companies that carry that type of work, that would make a much better job in a quicker time.
Post Build Clean
· Post build clean. Something we have a lot of experience of. A building project can cause a lot of dust and grime. We would:-
- · Sweep up and vacuum floors and surfaces.
- · Wipe down skirting, architraves and windowsills.
- · Cleaning the interior and exterior of kitchen cupboards, and worktops, sink and draining board
Pre-Occupancy Cleaning
· House-buyers. As we found, relocating from another county, or from any considerable distance, can mean that you arrive with your removal company, and the house is in need of a clean. We can ensure that this is done before you arrive on the day or days before you arrive.
· Your carpet will be vacuumed, hard floors mopped.
· Wiping down skirting, architraves and other woodwork.
· Cleaning the interior and exterior of kitchen cupboards, and worktops, sink and draining board
One thing you won’t have to worry about, during what is quite a stressful time.
Domestic Cleaning, Office Cleaning Services
We also carry out regular domestic cleaning and Home Cleaning . It can be regularly once a week, once a fortnight, monthly or just a one off clean. It's up to you, we can work to your requirements. A quick once-over, or top to bottom clean, we are the company that can help
Domestic cleaning includes :-
Vacuuming carpets and floors
Cleaning at ceiling level,
Cleaning bathrooms and ensuites,
Woodwork to doors & skirting as well as stair runs (stringer, spindles handrail etc) and windowsills
Exterior of kitchen cupboards, worktops and white goods
Mopping hard floors
General dusting
NB Please note we do not do oven cleans, as this we believe is a specialist job and there are companies that provide this service giving better results
Your office? Yes, we can help there, in the hours before, during or after the working day. If you are a company on an industrial estate or using an office in town, we can tailor your cleaning requirements accordingly
Our requirements
Before commencing work at your property, are quite straightforward.
· The property must be empty, including if they are remaining, fridges and freezers and any other foodstuff storage areas (of course this is not the case with domestic household cleaning where people are resident) We do not carry out house clearance. Or in a partially furnished let, ample space to work within.
· Parking on site or close to the site, with relevant permits in place as necessary
· Keys available on the day, and alarms disabled to allow entry
· Ensure a running water and electricity supply is available
Our range
Our range. We tend to work within a ten-mile radius of Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. That would include the towns and villages indicated on the map. We both attend the job and supply our own cleaning materials and tools, and our competitive hourly rate will reflect this

We do not implement cancellation charges, or charge booking fees, although we do require payment on completion of works
